# the short version
I came to engineering through Launch School's multi-year, mastery-based program. Fundamentals first (data structures, networking, REST, databases), then a capstone in system design and distributed systems.
The capstone shipped as Firefly, a four-person open-source observability framework for AWS Lambda. I spent my favorite weeks on the cross-Lambda trace propagation puzzle. Most of my professional work since then has been at Insight Designs, a Boulder web agency.
Off the clock: photography, and fixing old game cartridges that have no business still working.
